Amongst the many partnerships and platforms that GAIN engages in, one of the most important is its role in the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. The SUN Movement was launched to support national leadership and collective action to scale up nutrition. SUN is not a new initiative, institution or fund; instead, it is a country-led Movement with hundreds of organizations and entities working to increase the effectiveness of existing programs by supporting national priorities, aligning resources and fostering broad ownership and commitment to nutrition.

GAIN and the World Food Programme (WFP) have been appointed as co-convenors of the SUN Business Network (SBN) at a global level, and also within Mozambique. GAIN Mozambique is expecting funding to implement the ‘Catalysing Private Sector Participation in Scaling Up Nutrition in Mozambique’ programme. This will be a pilot project for GAIN Mozambique with a donor providing substantial finance to de-risk private sector investment in nutritious goods and nutrition related services. The SBN in Mozambique will be the principal vehicle for business engagement in support of Mozambique’s national nutrition strategy.

The Impact Model Manager (Workforce) will promote workforce nutrition to specific trade/sector associations, conduct assessments of private sector company policies and practices, and design corresponding offerings for nutrition interventions. This position is an outward facing role with high interaction with the private sector and will perform a ‘brokering’ role linking requests for technical assistance as well as recruit new members, identify KPIs, and collate evidence on the impact of the project.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management experience with excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills. It is essential to have a sound understanding of private sector investment in the development sphere in Mozambique, in addition to solid experience in partnership building. A good understanding in nutrition is essential. The ideal candidate must be fluent in English and Portuguese.

Please note that this is a local position and GAIN will be unable to sponsor a work permit for this role.
