The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is driven by the vision of a world without malnutrition. GAIN was launched at the United Nations (UN)  in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. 

SUN and the SUN Business Network:

Since 2010, the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement has inspired a new way of working collaboratively to end malnutrition, in all its forms. With the governments of 60 SUN Countries (and three Indian states) in the lead, SUN unites civil society, agencies of the UN, donors, businesses and researchers—in a collective effort to improve nutrition. The SUN Business Network (SBN) was established in 2013 to mobilise business at a global and national level to support the SUN Movement. The SBN is convened at global level by GAIN and the UN World Food Programme (WFP). 

The Global Partnerships, Senior Associate:

The SBN Global Partnerships Senior Associate is a crucial role in the team, reporting to the SBN Global Coordinator and managing one Intern role. The role will support the creation of new partnerships between the network’s global members with national companies in SUN Countries and will manage the network’s efforts to mobilise and track global business commitments to nutrition. In addition this role will take the lead in establishing new partnerships between the network and key global business forums in order to strengthen global transparency and accountability mechanisms for business and nutrition. 


  • Qualified to Bachelors or Master’s degree level in development studies/management/health/economics/business/social science or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in building partnerships with business
  • Proven track record in business or business focused development programmes
  • Strong project management experience
  • Understanding and interest in the contribution that business can make to development and particularly advancing nutrition
