GAIN is looking for a seasoned professional to help drive public-private partnerships in support of linking agriculture and nutrition. The Manager for Partnership’s work will be conducted at the global level and within select target countries and regions, between multinational and national companies, international and local civil society, and developing country governments. Potential activities under these partnerships may include: spearheading the delivery of domestically produced nutritious foods, consumption and distribution of nutritious crops; optimization of agricultural value chains to make segments of the chain more nutrition-sensitive; and the development of innovative market-based distribution models for nutritious agricultural commodities.
Overall Purpose:
- Responsible for playing a key role in the implementation of GAIN’s global partnership program as it relates to GAIN’s Agriculture and Nutrition Security Initiative, identifying innovative public-private partnerships around nutritious agricultural commodities, building relationships and business development opportunities with private companies and aligning incentives for agribusiness around nutrition.
- Cultivate and manage GAIN Business Alliance opportunities related to GAIN’s engagement in line with GAIN’s global Agriculture and Nutrition Security Initiative.
- Provide representation and advocacy support for GAIN’s global partnerships and in particular the Agriculture and Nutrition Security Initiative.
- Lead and manage engagements related to public-private partnerships in agriculture and nutrition. Provide technical and implementation support to GAIN’s programs across the globe related to agriculture and nutrition related innovative partnership development.
- Build GAIN’s knowledge base on global, national and regional policy trends that impact business engagement in nutritious agricultural commodities. Contributes expertise as required to teams created by GAIN to address public private partnerships that link agriculture and nutrition.
- Develop, review, and report on the business development division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the team
- Provide regular support to the Director for Agriculture and Nutrition Security for both internal and external corporate administration.
