The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) was launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. GAIN is a global, Swiss-based foundation that mobilises public-private partnerships and provides financial and technical support to deliver nutritious foods to those people most at risk of malnutrition.

GAIN’s purpose is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving the consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition. In particular, we aim to improve the consumption of safe and nutritious foods for—at a minimum—1 billion people over the next five years and target major improvements to food systems, resulting in more diverse and healthier diets for vulnerable people in countries where we work.

For our Netherlands team based in Utrecht, we are looking for a part-time (16 hours per week) Office & Finance Assistant to provide an effective and comprehensive service to the manager and employees. The Office & Finance Assistant will support the team with the accounting for GAIN Netherlands and general administration and operational tasks.

The Office and Finance Assistant will be responsible for processing invoices, bank payments and monthly accounts in QuickBooks with the support of the Project Account in London; s/he will review all travel expenses and claims prepared by the GAIN NL staff, ensure all necessary documentation is obtained and filed. The Office and Finance Assistant will be in charge of providing support to the international GAIN staff during their visit to the Netherlands and ordering and management of office equipment.

As ideal candidate, you will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, being able to prioritize the workload. The ideal candidate will be proactive with a commitment to quality and accuracy with close attention to detail, and s/he will possess effective oral and written communication skills in an environment requiring diplomacy and good judgement in managing interactions with individuals at all levels inside and outside an organization.

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is committed to a policy of equal opportunity and as an inclusive employer we are keen to reflect the diversity of our society at every level within our organisation. We welcome applications from all sections of the community. Our employees worldwide are required to ensure their behaviour is consistent with our policies.
