The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is searching for an Associate, Nutritious Foods Financing to support the Nutritious Foods Financing Programme.

GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.

The Associate, Nutritious Foods Financing will be supporting the operations, administration, and communications of the Nutritious Foods Financing Programme as well as building the processes and tools to launch an effective partnership between the different components of the financing facility.

Some specific responsibilities include;

  • Working with the GAIN team and the fund manager team to achieve alignment of investment contracts and legal documents – including incentive arrangements, financial metrics reporting, management company rights and investor protections
  • Oversee the implementation of N3F project workplans and support with the drafting of impact and M&E reporting for internal and external audiences
  • Maintain up-to-date market knowledge/intelligence, geographic and sector mappings on the food and agriculture financing and (social) (impact) investing landscape and share the same within the GAIN team and more broadly, including identifying key partners to influence and support in communication pieces (blogs, reports, articles)

Candidates for this position should have technical understanding of emerging market finance, impact investment and/or development finance and be able to operate within the private and public sectors to effectively liaise diverse stakeholders and multi-cultural settings. Candidates for this role should also possess analytical, research and valuation skills, including the ability to analyse company reports, sector data, economic situations and relevant political events.
