The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is looking for a consultant to collaborate with GAIN team to support Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC) to build nutrition advocacy agenda for RMG workers.

GAIN is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people. In particular, we aim to make healthier food choices more desirable, more available, and more affordable. GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially those most vulnerable to malnutrition.

The SUN Business Network (SBN) has been conveyed by GAIN reduce malnutrition in all its forms through mobilizing business to invest and innovate in responsible and sustainable actions and operations. To do this SBN provides a neutral platform to broker partnerships and collaboration between business and all actors on nutrition at national, regional and global level to support SUN Country plans. The SUN Business Network (SBN) Bangladesh is going to build advocacy agenda for improving and expanding workforce nutrition programs in Bangladesh by building a coordinated approach to address the nutritional needs of female garment workers and their children in the ready-made garments (RMG) sector in Bangladesh. 

The National Consultant will provide support to identify potential nutritious food that can offered by SME’s to the RMG workers and support in mapping the stakeholders operating in the space of workforce nutrition in Bangladesh. The National Consultant will also be supporting the development of nutrition messages and dietary guidelines for RMG factories and working on a documentation for building stronger momentum on workforce nutrition.

The consultant is expected to have experience in Nutrition Programs with International Organization, UN Agency or Private Sector.
