The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is driven by the vision of a world without malnutrition. GAIN is a Swiss based foundation that mobilizes public-private partnerships and provides financial and technical support to deliver nutritious foods to those people most at risk of malnutrition.  The organization is delivering improved nutrition to an estimated 700 million people in more than 30 countries, half of whom are women and children, nutrition products are as varied as fortified cooking oil and flour in Africa, soy sauce in China and biscuits in India, as well as specialized products for infant and young child nutrition, and interventions to protect the most vulnerable affected by emergencies or chronic illness.

The Junior Project Accountant is a key member of the Finance Team, s/he will work with the London based International Finance team to ensure accurate and efficient reporting in line with best practice, donor regulations and organisational policy.

Reporting to the International Finance Manager the Junior Project Accountant will play a supporting role to ensure effective donor reporting processes are in place. The successful candidate will gain experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial systems and donor reporting, and which will involve significant dealings with both finance and non- finance staff who may be based overseas in developing countries.

The successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant with an interest in working within an international NGO environment and with major donor EU / DFID / USAID / UNICEF.  S/he will have strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues and a drive to succeed.
