About the Role

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is seeking an Intern, Workforce Nutrition to support the monitoring efforts of workforce nutrition programmes in our implementing countries including Uganda and Ethiopia. This position will be based in Utrecht, The Netherlands office and is offered on a 6 months fixed-term contract basis.

Reporting to the Research Associate, the intern will work closely with the project teams and Knowledge Leadership and Monitoring teams to finalize Monitoring and Evaluation plans, supporting teams in tracking reach and impact data.

You will help to transfer existing tools, using SurveyCTO and Tableau visualization and you will assist the monitoring teams to streamline quality improvement tools in the projects. The postholder will also support the team in estimating the spillover effects of the Workforce Nutrition (WFN) programmes in countries to household members.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Finalising SurveyCTO forms and dashboards for Uganda and Ethiopia workforce nutrition programmes
  • Preparing reports on quality improvement approaches and findings from Uganda and Ethiopia programmes
  • Developing a learning brief on experiences with fair price shops in Bangladesh and Ethiopia
  • Gathering learnings and identifying opportunities for improvement of tools and resources
  • Supporting project documentation and the development of funding proposals in the Workforce Nutrition programme

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience working in an administrative or coordinator role in a project management capacity e.g., in group work at university and engaging with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Candidates with experience in low- and middle- income countries and working within food and nutrition and / or international development would be an advantage.

The postholder should be fluent in written and spoken English and working knowledge of additional languages would be an advantage. Candidates’ must be comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic, international organisation and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues at different locations in achieving shared goals.

Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree in public health, nutrition, international development, communication, journalism, media or related fields. You will have strong analytical, research and writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
